winter longing by sassaputzin winter longing by sassaputzin
Ive been going over files recently and these shots of frosty mornings have actually got me longing for winter as summer has been so dire for photography...

I really like this photo. It reminds me of childhood memories of a pond near my home in Michigan where I am originally from.

My own "winter longing" inspires about a third of my oil paintings even though I now live in Florida.

I don't know if it cheers you up at all, but it's tipping it down here too :-(

Lovely shot, really nice, clean composition. Great stuff.

it does actually being english you'd understand our trait of relishing the fact that someone else may be suffering as badly as us....its because of the effects of the weather condition known as la nina...el nino's twin...lowers temps and brings rain to western europe....and it sucks big fat hairy....

Just seen a guy on the news saying that England only has two seasons now: This winter and next winter :-)

Frosty! I love how the cool blues in the ice offset the warmer tones in the sky.

Great shot Stephen. This one is skillfully composed. Love all the grass patches in there. Maybe the front of the pond is a bit dark which looks strange as there isn't a visible dark counterpart in the sky - just minor.

I have mates there - poor you lot....
I haven't done any festivals this year due to "wet ones" over the last few years - I miss them like hell...All that sweaty jumpin' around never knowing where you (or you mind) might end up next.....

Yeah you should have. Certainly looking at the line up this year it seems that way. Glastonbury lost it some time ago. I had a few brilliant times at The Glade and the Big Chill is also supposed to be good - but it's Bestival for me next year......

the only reason i didn't was your comment about being put off by bad weather in the past + i naively thought i might sell it!!.........your right glastonbury is terrible now....i remeber the good ol days.......glade has a great line up ....but yeah im too old for festivals really but i will be going to bestival next year thats for sure.....

I'd almost rather frosts and snow, than this rubbish sun and awful rain.

Lovely as always... I adore the sharpness this has, and the gradient look the little pond (?) has. It gives the broken bits of ice a nice chilling feel.

Especially like how in the distance the sky has a slightly warmer look... makes you wonder whether there's some beautiful, hot place in the far distance :faint:

I can hear the crackle of the frost under your feet Steve....this shot is truly stunning in so many ways. The frosty grass, the ice on the water the cold blue of the pond, the depth and perspective of this shot and last but by no means least the incredibly beautiful hues in the sky. I love it  :D

I really like this one, the snow's not too deep so it still shows the grass <3 Most people just take deep white Winter pictures.
