You just wouldn't have been able to fit the entire sweep of the curve in with a 17mm lens, would you ;-)

Lovely shot, nicely composed

Great shot Stephen, a different view of a very popular spot. I love the composition an the light is superb.

never been, looks amazing. I like this subtle shot possibly more than the sunset predictable one. I think I might have stepped back a bit to include more on the lhs, it's a bit tight. Even so I love it.

Great shot mate! I really love the curve in the composition in the FG, really puts me in the scene. What's the thin line just under the horizon on the left hand side which goes across to the island? I'm guessing it's just water or light...

its caused by the shadow from the small island...its a band of light....

wonderful job!!! beautiful picture! but if it is critique you would like i think the only thing i would say about this photo is that i would have pulled a little more contrast out of the sky. just my personal opinion, but either way it is amazing!

yep i can empathise with that sentiment, the sky is shot pretty much as it was there wasn't a great deal of contrast in it and i dont like to overwork things.....thanks for taking the time to comment

regards
steve

your very welcome, and i know exactly what you mean about the overworking, some people go waaaaaaaaay overboard, and i respect you for that, its more of the natural beauty:) honestly though a great photo!

I dont see anything wrong with the top left corner. The skies get darker the further you get from the sun, looks natural. :)

nice capture with interesting details in the fg, however i'm not sure about the brightness distribution from left to right, looks not very authentic for me, especially the top left corner.
