purple thing?.....it looked pretty much as you see it..... it was not dark the sun was setting.....hence the colours

Fantastic rock formations and the sea almost looks as light as the clouds themselves. It was captured so delicately :)

Oh hells yeah man! Nice! Its a shame about the position of the sun... I guess in about 6 months or maybe slightly less, the sun will be setting right behind/beside that awesome rock!
Do you use The Photographers Ephemeris? Its awesome for planning this kind of stuff!

i prefer this one over the portrait oriented one.

to me, the portrait orientation and the very vertical rock were an awkward combination, especially with it's placement so close to the edge.

here however that awkwardness is gone, and to add, the other rocks now lead the eye more and there is more 'happening' in the water, making it less of a 'one trick pony'.
