Off the high street as bizarrely the peak this was shot from is a 'fell' called high street its name derived from the roman road that ran across the fell top. The Roman road crosses the fell on its journey between the forts at Brougham (Brocavum) near Penrith and at Ambleside (Galava). The peaks in this area are gently undulating which was a contributing factor in the roads construction, much of the lower ground being marshy and thick with trees.
The small lake or tarn is called Blea, it occupies a glacially excavated hollow and is the deepest in the lake district at just over 200ft deep.
