The heart of connemara looking across to the Manumturks (described by some writers as the mini Alps). i'd love to say it was a planned shot (although i had wanted to get a panorama of at least one of the small mountain ranges on galways penninsula) but this is just kinda where i ended up on my first day exploring this area. i wasnt to know but it was some of the best conditions i'd get.
This part of Ireland had had extremely cold weather for most of December and so presented some great opportunites.
I ended up sprinting to the point i took this photo from through foot deep snow grasses and scrub (as is quite often the case) so its a bit snatched it was fiercely cold and my short haired south african descendant dog wasnt happy.
This is 11 shots (not really done any kind of justice this small) processed in lightroom stitched in PTGui post processed in lightroom and CS4.
