Shot from Combestone tor looking into a setting sun with the elements that are so typical of Dartmoor. The gnarled tree lumps of granite and the open moorland.

You seem to get what I'd call "the perfect shot"... I've been looking at like, 3/4 pages of your gallery and they're all stunning.

Have you ever taken photography anywhere?

Geewhiz, I think you need a good pair of glasses. That or I'm biased! If I was able to produce anything near what you do, I'd probably be immensely annoying as I'd be a jumping bean :rofl:

Have you ever done anything commercial or studied photography?

:rofl:....jumping bean!!!...

im just starting to sell things commercially...ive just had a commision from a guy who works for the council placing artwork in libraries around devon....ive only studied it personally...and really thrown myself into learning whole heartedly...i have a reaL passion...that helps...especially when its getting up at four o'clock to go and take a landscape......

HEY! What's so amusing about a jumping bean? :evillaugh:

That is dedication, in my opinion of course. Throwing yourself into something you love, doing *cough*idiotic*cough* things like waking up at 4am *faints* - does sound like you've got the right tools to get where you want to.

Now the question is... why 4am? ^^;

its all about light...the best time for landscape photography is dusk an dawn.....have a look around as the sun sets....the greens in the grass are at there most deepest, sunset skies are obviously more interesting, all the colurs are more saturated...the low angle of the sun affects the colors infront of you....like my last shot of the lighthouse

ive been there many times but i knew the best image would be in the morning...the sun rises behind the lighthouse...12 hours later it would be over my right shoulder and probably to intrusive in the shot....so i wanted the sun rising behind the light house...make sense...
