I have been concentrating on taking images in this area for some time now. This is proof persistence pays off its quite a drive from me and a steep walk (or run if you're racing to get good light!) up to the top where 'great links' sits, with one of the best outlooks on dartmoor, i have been up and down this hill a lot of times in the last few months and probably spent a small fortune on petrol but it all becomes worth it when you get a night like this.

Great links tor, Dartmoor national park devon uk

Nicely composed although personally the trig point is a bit of a no-no. the blue in the sky doesnt look quite right, I wonder fi the WB was a little cool, cameras auto WB tends to be tricked at sunset. Try 5000K- 5500K. I would maybe consider brightening the main stack a little bit, cant understand why it should be that much darker?

I think the composition warrants the trig point and they are a part of the landscape but i take your point. The white balance is pretty accurate the sky was turquoise and pink....very dusky, it may be possible the graduated filter has affected the colour in the sky a little if i look at it now...anyways
thank you for taking the time to comment Alex...

Lovely light, but I'm not sure about the composition. It is nice of course, but I feel the left side is much weaker than the right side.

I might have been tempted to get in closer to the rocks at the front.
