*re-edited, as alex pointed out the processing of the original was terrible, so with less bleary eyes and a better composition than the last heres a corrected version.
Wherever i go to take images it doesnt feel as natural as it does on Dartmoor, theres just something about the place that strikes a real affinity with me....
This is a shot of the eastern part of 'honeybag tor' (i know great name!) looking towards the rising full moon at sunset....
The heather is more muted now in colour as it dies off, and to my mind more complimentary to the other colours that make up this landscape.....
This is really good Steve, but I think with some better PP it could be excellent. Firstly the composition is good, but I think a panoramic crop could improve it further. The line of heather running through the middle of the shot drags the eye down and out of the picture. If you crop from the bottom to get rid of the darkest part of the heather then to me the shot flows better. The sky looks a bit nuclear to me. It's mostly the blue, which is a bit too cyan and to my mind needs to be pushed to a more ultramarine hue since I have never seen the sky that colour. Otherwise I have to say this is a very strong shot, one which I might have passed up myself because the heather is passed its best, but as you say, it works that way.
thank you for that alex nice to have something constructive.... you may be right compositionally, i do have a shot your describing, and many more... i'll look at the sky colour,(tbh altering individual colour hue is something i do very little of,)... all i know is it was pretty unique sky... again thanks for taking the time...
hey alex i'd be interested in you're thoughts on this re-edit, you were right the post nuclear sky has gone, i used a better composition and ultimately took my time a bit more....
Wonderful! Perfect composition and colors, and I for one thought Drew's dust spot was a moon at first My only concern is about the white dot in the flowers, why didn't you clone that out?
